4 THINGS TO DO WITH USED CLOTHING
SELL ONLINE
There are many marketplaces online and in person where you can sell your unwanted clothes.
Some of those include: Depop, Poshmark, Crossroads Trading Company, Buffalo Exchange, etc. Many also use their own social media platforms to sell or trade their previously loved items themselves.
UPCYCLE
Many pieces of clothing can be used as rags to clean home and kitchenware. With COVID-19 on the rise, many make masks. Some women repurpose their old clothes to make reusable feminine products or even diapers.
RECYCLE
Nowadays, there are many brands and companies that conduct what is called a closed loop recycling which is when a customer has purchased and used clothing but brings them back once they’re done to the original store for recycling. Some companies give incentives to their customers to do this by giving them a discount on new purchases.
DONATE
There are many places where you can donate your used but unwanted clothing. Places like the Salvation Army and Goodwill are great but did you know that many animal shelters need used clothing? Homeless shelters often take donations too. Furthermore, gently worn suits and shirts can be donated to organizations like Dress for Success.
